We are recruiting for Senior Health Care Assistants to join our team at Meadowbank Care Home.

This role would be on a rotation of day and night duty- 

previous experience is essential for this role.

Duties and responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the residents but can include:

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting residents, when required, with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and all other aspects of daily living, according to their individual needs.
  • Observe the care planning needs of residents and complete daily records as instructed and in line with Company’s policy and procedure
  • Follow the competency-based training and under the supervision of the Unit/Home manager, ensure the residents medication is: -Stored correctly – Administered in line with company policy and professional guidelines – Manage and coordinate the supply of medication communicating with Pharmacy to ensure there is always a supply of medication as required-
  • Ensure audits are completed – Report and record any discrepancies in line with the facility medicine policy
  • Ensure that staff are making the best use of the aids available in assisting residents who have limited mobility, or physical difficulties.
  • Monitor and report on the condition of palliative care/end of life residents
  • Promote the rights, dignity, privacy, respect, & choice to every resident when providing care.
  • Support & encourage residents to maintain their independence in all aspects of daily living.

Essential Criteria

  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Basic IT skills
  • Minimum of NVQ Level 2 with willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • 6+ months experience in working in care
  • Will be required to be signed off as competent at the induction training
  • Available to work a flexible shift pattern including 1:1 support, evenings and weekends
  • All Ann’s Care Home Health Care Assistant staff will be required to complete and obtain a minimum 60% in Level 2 of The Deprivation of Liberty module
  • Eligibility to work in UK
